Katherine Mark

Katherine is a North Carolina native who began her professional dance training at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, graduating with a concentration in Contemporary Dance. In 2008, she attended the Hollins University/American Dance Festival program, where she earned her BFA in Dance while working closely with artists from around the world. Her career spans performance, choreography, and education, including faculty positions with the American Dance Festival at Duke University and Millennium Dance Complex in Pittsburgh, PA.

In 2018, Katherine founded the NC Dance Ambassadors program, a mentorship and training platform for young dancers across North Carolina. NCDA has become known for its unique opportunities, including exclusive intensives with professional companies and guest artists, film-based projects, and professional dance photography. Over the past decade, she has also expanded her creative work into dance photography and film direction, specializing in cinematic reels, portraits, and directing for camera-based workshops such as REELS and Dance on Film.

Building on the creative energy of NCDA, Katherine is now launching Reel Dance Media, a production and dance education company dedicated to cinematic dance storytelling. Through both NCDA and Reel Dance Media, she continues to create meaningful spaces where dancers feel seen, supported, and inspired in their artistry.
